We set off with a nice medley of suitcases and backpacks - colours range from cherry red to teal blue. We tare all so neat and compact at this stage. First stop Bowral to meet a friend of Wally's who has just moved to a retirement village here from Canberra. She has done so to be nearer her 2 sons. Her home reveals the delicate balance between the past and the present. Set among beautiful gardens the villa is comfortable and lovely- but her beautiful antique furniture from Malaysia sits silently against the backdrop of walls bare of pictures and art. It will take time to settle and call this new place home. In the meantime however, we touch base with each other and share a cafe meal, and hear of her joy in being able to forge closer ties with her 4 grandchildren.
Now I Sit in the hotel room looking out at the lights of planes taking off for far destinations. That'll be us tomorrow morning at 3:00 am!
Great you are doing a blog Roz. We will be following you. Have a marvellous time. Love Meryl and Glenn
ReplyDeleteThere is only one person in your procession that could pull off being a vision in teal blue…the Himalayan Richard Gere himself.
