Beautiful Austria

We trundled into Innsbruck after an amazing drive through the beautiful mountains of "Sound of Music" fame.  Among many other wonderful and thoughtful little touches, our tour guide Graeme played some of the songs as we wended our way up through beautiful villages and amazing mountains.

Innsbruck was a delight - steeped in history, scenery as perfect as any picture, and a robust community bustling about with the business of life and providing travellers with warm hospitality.  Juxtapositioned against the magnificent backdrop are medieval cathedrals, a modern day ski run built for the Winter Olympics, and beer halls where hearty meals are served with (literally) rivers of beer, All this was cheered along by an evening of Tyrolean  folk music performed by a local family....complete with cow bells and swiss horns.
